Bobcat Christmas Video the Help of AI-generated Content
For several years now, we've been creating special Christmas content for Bobcat. In 2023, we decided to build on the success of our 2021 Christmas video, but with a fresh twist: showcasing Bobcat's entire expanded portfolio of machines. Our goal was to create an unforgettable 3D project that would spread holiday cheer and highlight Bobcat's latest innovations.
Why not a fully 3D video?
Producing a fully 3D video with the story we envisioned would have been prohibitively expensive. To help Bobcat save resources, we come up with a cost-effective strategy: using AI-generated images as static backgrounds for the 3D animation. This approach not only reduced production time and costs but also gave us plenty of material for social media.
Our Creative Process
We started by creating and testing text prompts that the AI would turn into visuals. We found that the best results came from prompts that included both the environment and a generic machine.
Prompt Example: “A picturesque winter scene of a small gingerbread village, with houses and buildings decorated for Christmas. In the foreground is a compact construction vehicle.”
Approved AI output
From hundreds of generated images, we picked the best ones. We then used Photoshop to remove the generic machines and used AI to edit any undesirable areas, increasing the size and resolution through upscaling. These images were sliced into several layers (foreground, background, objects) to create a sense of depth.

Next, we prepared images of the machines and other elements from the 3D backgrounds, turned them into animations, and inserted them into the 2D video. We carefully adjusted the details to ensure everything fit together perfectly, bringing the Christmas story to life. Finally, we processed the video into its final output and various formats.
The result
We took the successful concept from 2021 and took it to the new level by showcasing more of Bobcat's machines. The video received positive feedback worldwide and performed exceptionally well on social media, attracting a global audience and achieving 1.5 million unique views. We also used the AI-generated images for Bobcat's Christmas card design.
